Short Paper: Palaeocurrent evidence of a northern structural high to the Welsh Basin during the Late Llandovery

T. McCANN and K. T. PICKERING

Department of Geology, Leicester University, Leicester LE1 7RH, UK

Palaeocurrents from the northernmost Aberystwyth Grits Formation are consistently from the north, which is at variance with the generally accepted southerly source area for the rest of the formation. The anomalous directions appear to indicate a structural high and possible sediment source to the north.
